Pizza deliveryman robbed in Trenton at gunpoint
By Alex Zdan/The Times
on March 20, 2013 at 9:46 PMTRENTON — A pizzeria delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint after an apparently bogus order was called in to an abandoned house Monday night, police said.
The driver, a 29-year-old Hamilton resident, was sent out to the first block of Hollywood Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. with a pizza that had apparently been called in from an address on the street. When the driver went up to and spoke with a man standing on the front porch to make the delivery, two masked men with guns ran out from across the street, according to police.
The armed men and the man on the porch worked together to take $200 and the pizza from the driver before they fled, Lt. Steve Varn said. The driver was unhurt in the robbery.
Police are seeking the suspect on the porch, who is described as a black male, 25 years old, 5-foot-6, and wearing dark clothing. Full descriptions of the other two men were not available. Detectives are investigating.
Anyone with information on the robbery should call police at (609) 989-4170, or the Confidential Tip Line at (609) 989-3663.
