TRENTON — An argument that turned physical Sunday morning led to three stab wounds for one man and arrest for another, police said.

Edgar Vazquez, 41, was arguing with a 29-year-old city man on the first block of Turpin Street shortly before 6 a.m., Lt. Steve Varn said. Vazquez grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim three times: twice in his left side and once in his right arm, Varn said.

Police were called out to the scene, and an ambulance took the 29-year-old to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was expected to survive his injuries, police said.

Vazquez was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Varn said the argument was a personal dispute between the two men, and not domestic in nature.
