Trenton man shot in Wilbur section, police say

TRENTON — A city man walking his cousin and friends to their car Saturday night was shot once in the leg during gunfire in the Wilbur section, police said.

No one else was injured when several shots were fired on the first block of Winder Avenue about 9 p.m. A 23-year-old city resident was walking out of his house with guests who attended a party when the shooting started, Lt. Mark Kieffer said.

The 23-year-old was hit once in the left leg. He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was in stable condition yesterday.

Police were unsure yesterday if the 23-year-old was the target of the shooting, and said he was unable to provide them with much information. A full description of the suspect was not available.

Detectives are investigating. Anyone with information on the case should call police at (609) 989-4170 or the Confidential Tip Line at (609) 989-3663.
