TRENTON — Three people including a 15-year-old girl were shot in front of a West Ward house late Tuesday night, police said.

The girl and one man were in stable condition yesterday and were expected to be released from the hospital. Another man was hospitalized with more serious gunshot wounds to the abdomen and thigh and was expected to survive, police said.

The three people and possibly some others were on a front porch and sidewalk on the first block of Sanhican Drive just after 11:50 p.m. Two gunmen walked up from the street and opened fire, shooting numerous times at the people gathered there, Lt. Mark Kieffer said.

Everyone scattered amid the gunfire and the two gunmen soon fled on foot.

The 15-year-old was hit once in the upper left thigh. Officers found her on the porch and she was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by Trenton EMS.

A 25-year-old city man wounded in the lower right thigh drove himself to Capital Health, and a 24-year-old shot in the abdomen and leg was taken to the same hospital by a family member.

Full descriptions of the shooters were not available. Police declined to say whether they believe anyone who was standing outside the home was a target of the gunmen.
