The employees will receive a 1.5 percent raise on the first day of 2014 and 2015 and 1 percent raises on Jan. 1, 2016 and July 1, 2016, township business administrator John Ricci said.
“While people in the private sector aren’t getting raises, we’re able to give these employees fair raises over a lengthy period of time,” Council Vice President Dave Kenny said.
In exchange, the employees will see increased copays on doctor visits and prescription costs, which Ricci said will save the township money.
The contract is similar to the recent 3½ year deal signed with the Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 66, which included salary raises with higher incremental steps and the same copay increases, Ricci said.
