Trenton city council holds emergency closed-door meeting on employees funded by federal grant money
By Alex Zdan/The Times
on October 25, 2013 at 12:07 AMTRENTON — Four city employees were ordered to appear in front of the Trenton City Council yesterday afternoon for a closed-door examination of employee positions paid for with federal grant monies, the council president said.
Five of the seven council members spent over three hours huddled inside their conference room with the business administrator, law director and city clerk. Among those seen leaving was Marc Leckington, coordinator of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the city, apparently the focus of the questioning according to the meeting notice.
A second, upcoming executive session will have four more employees appearing, council President George Muschal said after last night’s meeting. No one has been terminated as a result of the revelations.
