HAMILTON — In a new television commercial, Gov. Chris Christie asks supporters to vote for Peter Inverso, the Republican candidate for state Senate in the 14th District.
“I need Pete Inverso to help us keep lowering property taxes and to keep New Jersey moving forward,” Christie says in the 30-second advertisement.
NRA ENDORSES 15TH, 16TH DISTRICT REPUBLICANS
TRENTON— Republican candidates in the 15th and 16th Districts were endorsed this week by the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund.Those endorsed included Sen. Kip Bateman (R-Branchburg) and Assemblywoman Donna Simon (R-Readington) in the 16th District and Republican candidate Anthony Giordano, an Assembly candidate in the 15th District
LIBERTARIANS CRITICIZE COMMON CORE CURRICULUM
EAST WINDSOR — Don DeZarn and Sean O’Connor, the Libertarian candidates for Senate and Assembly in the 14th District, criticized their opponents for ignoring the Common Core curriculum in New Jersey schools.
DeZarn and O’Connor have called for property tax freezes and said this week that the Common Core was an unfunded mandate that was costly and problematic for school districts and taxpayers.
REPUBLICANS CRITICIZE GREENSTEIN ON HEALTH REFORM
The Republican slate seeking election in the 14th District criticized state Sen. Linda Greenstein’s (D-Plainsboro) support for a 2012 bill that they say would have made New Jersey one of the first states to implement parts of the federal Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
The bill, which was vetoed, would have created a state Health Benefit Exchange. The Republicans said Greenstein did not think about the effect the program would have on families, and argued it would have been an “absolute boondoggle.”
ENVIRONMENTAL SUPER PAC ENDORSES BATEMAN
TRENTON — The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters for a Cleaner Environment endorsed Republican state Senator Kip Bateman, citing his stance on environmental protection.
“Our support for Senator Kip Bateman’s reelection ensures New Jersey families and businesses have a champion in Trenton to protect clean water, open space and parks, and clean air,” said Ed Potosnak, executive director of NJLCV.
HAMILTON FIREFIGHTERS ENDORSE YAEDE
HAMILTON — Mayor Kelly Yaede was endorsed for reelection by the Hamilton Township Professional Firefighters Association FMBA (Firefighters’ Mutual Benevolent Association) Local 84 and Professional Fire Officers Association FMBA Local 284.
Local 84 represents career firefighters in Hamilton’s nine fire districts and the Local 284 represents fire officials.
ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS SUPPORT 14TH DISTRICT DEMS
HAMILTON — The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, Environment New Jersey and Clean Water Action have endorsed Sen. Linda Greenstein (D-Plainsboro) and Assemblyman Daniel Benson (D-Hamilton), the 14th District Democrats said in a press release.
“Clean air and water and open space are things we can never take for granted. I will continue to work to protect our state’s environmental treasures, so future generations will be able to enjoy them as well,” Greenstein said in a release.
PRO-LIFE PAC RECOMMENDS GIORDANO
New Jersey Right to Life has recommended Republican candidate Anthony Giordano for election to the Assembly in the 15th District.
“I’m proud to receive New Jersey Right to Life Political Action Committee’s recommendation. I believe strongly in the right to life from the moment of conception until natural death,” Giordano said in a press release.
