on November 15, 2013 at 11:40 AM, updated November 15, 2013 at 11:48 AMTRENTON — While a crowd of approximately 80 children and adults gathered on the first floor of City Hall for a dance showcase, upstairs in city council’s meeting room, the city’s administration was being questioned as to how the city is funding such events.
Council members last night said they would not provide any more funding for the recreation department until the administration can demonstrate that funding is not being used for private events that are not supposed to receive public support.
Council members said in the past the recreation department has put on events, such as this summer’s Heritage Days Festival, using city funds, when council members expressly said they would not authorize funding for the event.
