Bill in Assembly to revise Megan’s Law would spare “sexting” teenagers

The change is an effort to resolve a complication that has arisen nearly two decades after New Jersey adopted the nation’s first Megan’s Law in 1994.
That law requires sex offenders to register and the community to be notified.
Under the proposed changes, minors who share nude photos of themselves with other minors could still be adjudicated as delinquent in family court, but they would no longer be subject to the offender registry.
