Union Baptist Church raises $6K for Clinton House in Trenton

TRENTON — Members of Union Baptist Church raised $6,000 during a “candlelight communion” service last night to support Clinton House, a transitional halfway house offering those incarcerated an opportunity to serve the final months prior to parole in a community setting, the Rev. Simeon Spencer said.

Since 2008, the Pennington Avenue church has offered its support in donations to a different local or regional nonprofit as a way of kicking off the holiday season, Spencer said, adding that the two-hour service was the sixth of its kind.
