Largest outdoor junior tennis facility in the country nearing completion in Trenton

TRENTON — Hailed as the product of a perfect partnership of public and private sector ambitions, the redevelopment of the city’s Junior Champions Tennis Center will enter its final phase with the construction of a two-story pavilion at the organization’s facility in Cadwalader Park.

The culmination of a four-year redevelopment effort, which has seen the area transformed from a few weed-ridden clay courts to 21 fully refurbished hard courts, the pavilion will make the site the largest outdoor junior development tennis facility in the country, the organization said.

Construction of the structure was celebrated yesterday with a ground-breaking ceremony at the JCTC facility in the park, where the organization’s executive director, Rob Howland, mentioned that the project resulted from support from the city, as well as funds raised by the National Junior Tennis Learning of Trenton. The structure will be gifted to the city by the organization upon its completion.
