This donation from Bank of America will help the soup kitchen provide food for about 7,500 meals, the soup kitchen’s community relations and development coordinator J. Steinhauer said in a statement released by the bank.
The soup kitchen’s demand for meals has increased by 19 percent since 2011, Steinhauer said in the statement. The soup kitchen only receives about 2 percent of its funding from the government, Steinhauer said, so it relies heavily on donations.
