Delaware Run housing complex spurs sales, gives Trenton suburban charm

TRENTON — The setting sun was radiating a brilliant orange when Jose Rentas strolled past the rows of town houses with his dog Jojo in tow. It was a brief trip, yet both seemed satisfied — Jojo wagged his tail in approval while Rentas smiled with obvious contentment.

A simple scene, indeed, and one that is attracting buyers to urban communities like The Villages at Delaware Run, a housing development in Trenton that has more of a suburban feel.

Completed in 2010, K. Hovnanian Homes’ Delaware Run housing development is comprised of more than 80 town homes located at the site of the former Champale brewery. The complex is a one-block area bounded by Lamberton, Lalor, Centre and Cliff streets.
