Jefferson School in Trenton to reopen after $2.7M renovation

TRENTON — The shuttered Jefferson School will reopen to students next month following a $2.7 million renovation project to update the school which had fallen into disrepair.

“All items have been completed,” said Superintendent Francisco Duran. The school was scheduled to reopen in September for the beginning of the academic year but was pushed back after construction delays.

Duran said the school on Wittlesey Road is set to reopen as soon as it receives its certificate of occupancy from the city’s inspectors, which is anticipated to be any day now. The furniture is in place and boxes of supplies and materials have been delivered. The district will give some time for teachers to set up their classrooms before the students will start at the school, he said
