on December 19, 2013 at 10:12 PM, updated December 19, 2013 at 10:24 PMTRENTON — By a 4-3 vote, city council rejected a resolution tonight that would ask candidates running for public office in Trenton to voluntarily submit a credit report to the city clerk’s office for public review.
Council members Alex Bethea, Zachary Chester, Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and Kathy McBride voted against the measure, saying they did not feel that it was appropriate.
Reynolds-Jackson said even though she has a good credit score, she did not support asking candidates for mayor or council to release their personal information.
