SDA approves new $130.5 million plan to replace Trenton Central High School

The state Schools Development Authority gave approval this morning to move forward with a new $130.5 million plan to build a new school to replace Trenton Central High School.

The board heard from members of the public and the newly installed CEO Charles McKenna about the new construction plan, which will replace an existing plan to renovate the 83-year-old school, before casting a unanimous vote.

Board Chairman Edward Walsh thanked the community members and school officials who came out in support of the projects, saying that while this project is a known concern for the SDA it is important to hear from the people who are hands-on every day at the school.

“I look forward to not only the groundbreaking but the grand opening,” Walsh said after the vote was cast in favor of the school.
