New Jersey State Police to take online applications for state trooper positions

on March 03, 2014 at 6:10 PMTRENTON — The New Jersey State Police are seeking applicants for state trooper positions in an array of career paths.
Officials on Friday announced the state police are accepting online applications from April 21 to May 5.
Troopers can choose from among a wide variety of careers within the agency.
“From community policing to homeland security, aviation to marine law enforcement, crime scene forensics to cyber investigations, the New Jersey State Police have a specialty area that is sure to suit an applicant’s unique skills and interests,” Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman said.
“We are looking for bright, energetic men and women who have demonstrated responsibility and character and are up to the challenge to be their best.”
Other than a state salary and benefits, the state police offer continuous training in more than 120 career paths.
An applicant must be at least 21 years old and must not reach age 35 before the graduation of his or her state police class. Applicants must also have one of the following:
— A bachelor’s degree
— A minimum of 90 college credits with completion of a degree coming prior to the written exam.
— An associate’s degree; or 60 college credits plus at least 24 months of satisfactory employment or military experience.
— Thirty college credits plus at least 24 months of active military service with an honorable discharge.
All college degrees or credits must come from an accredited college or university. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have a current driver’s license. For more information, visit www.NJTrooper.com.
