The three-story Trenton Works building, at the corner of South Broad and State streets, offers open spaces for everything from classes, lectures, movie screenings and workspace. Although the college signed a lease with the building owner last fall, events and projects at Trenton Works began in earnest the beginning of this year. Now there is activity at the office three or four nights a week.
“We want to make our programs more accessible to the community,” said Patrick Donohue, the assistant provost of community-engaged learning and partnerships at TCNJ’s Bonner Center.
Programming envisioned for the new location includes activities such as offering citizenship assistance for immigrants, guest speakers and other events geared toward an urban setting. It also will provide students at the college’s Ewing campus the opportunity to participate in city activities.
