On April 26 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., individuals will be able to dispose of their prescription medications in the parking lot in front of the Mercer County Administration Building at 640 South Broad St. in Trenton, the county sheriff’s office announced today.
The intention of the national event is to prevent the drugs from becoming available for abuse or entering the water supply through flushing, the office said in a statement.
“Proper disposal of unwanted prescription drugs can prevent experimentation, chronic addiction, overdose and even death,” Sheriff Jack Kemler said.
