Road to Trenton’s redevelopment and recovery could be just a click away

TRENTON — When city officials have questions or need advice about anything from combating gang violence to revitalizing downtown areas or reducing the city’s many blighted properties, help is now only a click away.

Trenton was among 50 cities chosen nationwide to participate in the National Resource Network or “311 for Cities,” a pilot program launched last month by the Obama administration as a one-stop resource for local government officials to help put their cities on the road to economic recovery.

“The hope is that cities begin to use this as a resource not only to get information about best practices, but that it makes it easier for them to implement programs and policies based on best practices,” said David Eichenthal, executive director of the network.

Sam Hutchinson, the city’s business administrator, said the program will help the city move forward with some of its plans for redevelopment.
