Special Olympics events expected to cause traffic congestion throughout Mercer County

Motorists are advised to leave extra time when traveling in the Mercer County area next week as the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games get underway. Various locations are hosting events for the games.Montgomery residents can expect sporadic road closures on Route 601 near Skillman Park from Monday to Thursday.

Additionally, from Monday to Friday, Mercer County Park in West Windsor will host multiple events that are expected to cause gridlock in and around the park.

Traffic will also be very heavy in both Ewing and Lawrence townships from Monday through Thursday. The busiest areas will be around The College of New Jersey, Rider University, and the Lawrenceville School.
