Trenton Ancient Order of Hibernians to host country festival

The Trenton Ancient Order of Hibernians will host an all-day country music festival next weekend as a fundraiser for a hunger charity. The state Ancient Order of Hibernians will host the “Mercer Country” festival from 1 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, June 21, at the Trenton Hibernians headquarters on Kuser Road in Hamilton.

The event will include country line dancing lessons and performances from live bands covering classic and new country and southern rock hits. “While the music is what we hope will bring out the people, there is so much more to the story,” New Jersey Ancient Order of Hibernians president Sean Pender said in an e-mail. All funds will go toward Hibernian charities, particularly Battle Against Hunger, which organizes a 200-mile bike tour each year to raise funds for hunger relief.
