TRENTON — Workers are putting the finishing touches on a new tennis pavilion in Cadwalader Park, marking the final phase of a four-year, $1 million project that the city and National Junior Tennis & Learning of Trenton undertook to revive and refurbish the long-neglected courts.

In its heyday, Cadwalader Park was a hub for tennis, but in the following decades fell into disrepair.

The first two phases involved refurbishing the existing six hard courts and transforming the six weed-ridden clay courts into 14 age 10-and-younger child-size hard courts and a stadium court, said Rob Howland, NJTLT executive director.
