Trenton Central High School is officially closed as 4-year rebuilding plan begins

TRENTON — More than 82 years after it opened its doors, Trenton Central High School on Chambers Street officially closed this week as part of the school’s reconstruction project.

The process has begun to move furniture and equipment into temporary classroom spaces in the four locations around the city where students from the school will learn over the next four years while the construction is ongoing.

“I feel confident in saying we will be ready,” said Everett Collins, the district’s buildings and grounds director.

Collins said the district is also making headway on the Cadwalader School, which will temporarily house the Daylight-Twilight Alternative School, and he expects that school will be updated and ready for students on the first day of school on September 8
