Trenton’s Henry J. Austin Health Center kicks off National Health Center week with wellness fair

TRENTON – Serving up hot dogs and hamburgers and playing music, community members gathered this morning at the Trenton Battle Monument Park just across from Henry J. Austin Health Center to celebrate national Health Center week.

The festivities included a wellness fair that featured local organizations, including Horizon NJ Health, conducting health screenings in a mobile facility.

State Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd joined the festivities, thanking the board members and staff at the center for their hard work to make sure all residents have access to quality health care.

“Health care centers provide comprehensive preventative medical care including immunization, health screenings, dental, behavioral health care and social services all tailored to meet the needs of their individual community,” O’Dowd said. “For more than 42 years Henry J. Austin has been living up to that charge as a critical safety net provider.”
