The Woodbury law of Long Marmero and Associates was formally charged in the ethics complaint in February alleging that the firm misappropriated funds from client trust funds to pay bills and payroll for the firm.
“When we learned about the complaint, the resolution was pulled (from the city council docket) immediately,” city spokesman Mike Walker said in a written statement.
He would not elaborate on what concerns the complaint raised for city officials.
In a written statement, founding partner Albert Marmero said the firm is working with the Office of Attorney Ethics to find a resolution. He described the allegations as “several instances of bookkeeping in the past that did not meet technical requirements.”
