Trenton woman a finalist for CNN ‘Hero of the Year’ award

on October 21, 2013 at 12:20 PM, updated October 21, 2013 at 5:45 PMTRENTON — Danielle Gletow, founder and executive director of a nonprofit that helps grant the wishes of foster children, is one of 10 finalists for CNN’s “Hero of the Year” award.
Gletow, who launched One Simple Wish from her West Trenton home in 2008, has helped grant more than 6,500 wishes to children in 42 states.
Her group allows social service agencies and caseworkers with the state’s Department of Children’s Services to post wishes on the website onesimplewish.org from children and families in need. Visitors to the site can make a donation toward a wish, then Gletow’s group will purchase and deliver it.
