Trenton superintendent is a finalist for top job in Maryland school district

TRENTON — The superintendent of the Trenton public school district is a finalist for the same position in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools, a 78,000-student district based in Annapolis, Md.

Francisco Duran, who was named Trenton school superintendent in May 2012, is one of three finalists by the Anne Arundel County school board, a news release from the Anne Arundel County district said. The other two finalists are internal candidates.

Duran did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

In an email, Trenton school board President Sasa Olessi-Montano said that Duran had previously informed the board of his application and finalist status.
