$3.3M contract approved for fixes to Trenton Route 1 bridge, ramps
Amy Reynolds | July 7, 2014A series of repairs and improvements to the Trenton-Morrisville Route 1 Toll Bridge and its approach bridges, roadways and ramps will begin next month, Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission spokesman Ethan Vickers said.Tasks included are resurfacing and restriping of the roadways, concrete roadway repairs, pavement crack resealing, drainage work, median repairs and bridge-joint rehabilitations, Vickers said.
The contract for the $3.3 million project, which was approved last week by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, is multifaceted and will encompass 5,275 feet of Route 1 and its approaching bridges and ramps, Vickers said.
The undertaking, which will be completed by November, is expected to involve 15 different ramps and roadways involving the toll bridge, including Route 29 and the Ferry Street intersection off Route 1 in Trenton.
