Trenton Thunder players visit nonprofit Anchor House’s residents as part of HOPE Week

on August 07, 2014 at 8:08 PM, updated August 07, 2014 at 8:17 PMTRENTON — Thunder baseball player Mason Williams is no stranger to the center field, but when he tested his pitching skills in the parking lot of Anchor House today, his performance was less than impressive.
“My pride’s down because I got smacked around,” he said. “That’s why I don’t pitch.”
Several other players stood on the edges of the parking lot, waiting to catch fly balls batted by youth and young adult residents of the Anchor House programs.
The team visited Anchor House, an organization that provides shelter and aid to runaway, homeless, abused or at-risk youth and their families, as part of its annual HOPE Week.
