TRENTON — A 15-year-old city boy with a gun robbed two people Thursday afternoon and has been arrested, police said.

The teen allegedly targeted a 17-year-old city boy who was walking with an unidentified male on the 200 block of Perry Street around 3:30 p.m. The 15-year-old came up to the two saying they should give him whatever they had in their pockets, Lt. Steve Varn said.

The 17-year-old claimed to have nothing of value, prompting the 15-year-old alleged robber to lift up his shirt to reveal a gun, police said. The armed teen then took a cell phone from the 17-year-old, and went through the pockets of his companion and found nothing. The alleged robber then fled.

Police interviewed the 17-year-old after he reported the crime, but the male he was walking with was not with him during the interview at police headquarters.

Detectives developed a suspect ID, and took the 15-year-old into custody yesterday morning, Varn said. They then issued juvenile petitions against him for robbery and weapons offenses.
