The men, ages 49 and 43, were not shot in the parking lot, but rather halfway across town in the city’s West Ward, Lt. Steve Varn said. Police were working to pinpoint the location of the shooting.
Hospital personnel rushed the two men inside the hospital and into emergency surgery. One was listed in guarded condition, while the other was said to be stable, Varn said.
Officers were on the scene investigating the incident, cordoning off a small area of the parking lot directly in front of the trauma center entrance. A blue SUV was parked there with its windows down, and a purple surgical glove and a baseball cap were strewn on the pavement on the driver’s side.
