TRENTON — City officers who pulled over a car fleeing from a reported street fight found 14 bricks of heroin inside, police said yesterday.

Steever and Niederman pulled the car over on the 400 block of Stuyvesant Avenue Friday around 6:30 p.m. Behind the wheel was 19-year-old Edward Higginbotham, a Trenton resident who did not have a driver’s license, Kieffer said.

When the officers allegedly smelled an odor of raw marijuana in the car, they ordered Higginbotham and his passenger, 19-year-old city resident Imiere Green out. Steever and Niederman then found the 14 bricks of heroin on the passenger side floor, Lt. Mark Kieffer said.

Both Higginbotham and Green were charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute, possession within 500 feet of a park and possession within 1,000 feet of a school. Higginbotham was charged with motor vehicle offenses.
